Dear First Grade
Families,
I hope you are
all planning to attend this year’s Spring Fling on Saturday, April 25 – less
than two weeks away! RSVP today by going to http://slesef.org/2015-spring-fling/
I am planning to
attend the event along with other Seven Locks teachers and Mr. Bencal. The
Spring Fling is a fundraiser, but as anyone who has attended in the past will
attest, it is so much more than that. It is a community event, connecting our
SLES staff and parents in a lively atmosphere. My husband, Sam, and I look
forward to it each year. It is a wonderful time to connect with families and
socialize!
Our first grade
room parents have been working hard with all of you to assemble a fun-filled
basket, which will be available for auction at the Spring Fling.
In addition, I’ve
personally donated a pottery painting and cupcake outing, which will be
available during the silent auction at the event. Both the
basket and the special teacher experiences are only available at the Spring
Fling. If you cannot attend on April 25, make sure to have a friend do your
bidding for you. I’ve also donated a manicure date as a “Buy It Now” item,
available on the foundation’s website.
All of the
proceeds of the Spring Fling benefit the SLES Educational Foundation, which
directly supports the teachers and students at Seven Locks. The Foundation is
committed to funding staff development opportunities, new textbook and
technology upgrades, and other improvements at the school, including the new
outdoor shade canopy and activity center. Mr. Bencal, a board member of the
Foundation, is dedicated to leading Seven Locks students to the top of the
Churchill Cluster. Much of the success of students’ performance to date has been
reliant upon SLES Educational Foundation funding. All of the teachers and Mr.
Bencal are grateful for your continuing support.
I hope to see you
on April 25 at the Spring Fling!
