A Big Thank You!

Thank you so much to the families who have donated games from the Amazon Wish List to our classroom! We are so excited to have a new set of fun ways to learn addition and subtraction during math centers! Here are the new games in action!

Congratulations, Wildcats!

Our class has earned another whisker for following the Wildcat Ways! We voted on a reward and students picked a movie and popcorn treat. Way to go, Wildcats!

Emergency Drills

We had two emergency drills today: shelter in place and lockdown.  The lockdown drill is potentially confusing to young students. While I want them to understand the importance of being quick and silent, I do not want them to be afraid in school. If you child expresses fear about these drills, please help explain why they are important for their safety. Below are descriptions for the procedures of the two drills:

Shelter in Place

 When the announcement is made:

•  Students are to be cleared from the halls immediately and to report to nearest available classroom 

•  Assist those needing special assistance

•  Take attendance; report according to Student Accounting and Release procedures

•  Do not allow anyone to leave the classroom

•  Stay away from all doors and windows

•  Wait for further instructions

Lockdown

(For use to protect building occupants from potential dangers in the building)

When the announcement is made:

•  Students are to be cleared from the halls immediately and to report to nearest available classroom

•  Assist those needing special assistance

•  Close and lock all windows and doors and do not leave for any reason

•  Cover all room and door windows

•  Stay away from all doors and windows and move students to interior walls and drop

•  Shut off lights

•  BE QUIET!

•  Wait for further instructions

No Homework Reminder
There is no homework next week. Remember to finish your Pumpkin Book Report and packet. Bring your homework packet to school on Friday, October 30.
